Performing Arts

Artist in Residence
Regina Elementary participates in an annual artist in residence program.  A professional community artist comes into the school for a week and shares their talents with Regina students.  This program coordinates through the special classes of art, music, or physical education.
Hand Bells
Regina Elementary students may participate in hand bell choir.  This group practices on site.  They perform for concerts, mass, and church services.
Music
All Regina elementary students participate in music class twice a week.  Students perform at the Christmas and spring concerts.  Students practice music for Mass.
Elementary Band
Fifth and sixth grade students may join band and take instrumental weekly music lessons.  Band practice is twice a week.  The band performs for the elementary Christmas and spring concerts
Orchestra
Regina elementary students who wish to play a string instrument may join the Iowa City Schools Orchestra.  This involves individual lessons and large group practice.
Field Trips
Regina classes are involved in field trips to theatre productions at Hancher and symphony productions at the Paramount.
