Tri-Parish Religious Education Program
I am pleased that you are visiting our website. Our program
proudly serves the Iowa City parishes of St. Mary's, St. Patrick's, and
St. Wenceslaus. Our other city parish, St. Thomas More, operates it's
own religious education program. Students from any Iowa City parish or
surrounding areas are invited and welcome to attend our program.
Our religious education program serves students kindergarten through
grade nine. Since we serve three parishes, our classes are held at
Regina inter- Parish Catholic Education Center to accommodate all
students. The Religious Education office is located on the second floor
of the elementary building. We invite you to come see our office and
the materials we use with students. Our office hours are 8:00 - 4:00,
Monday through Friday.
For the 2011-2012 school year, we will be holding classes on
Wednesday evenings. Classes are held from September to May each year
from 6:30 - 7:45pm. Classes are held to smaller numbers for student
interaction and each class has a catechist teacher and an associate. We
utilize a structured curriculum for all grades. Catechists are
provided detailed lesson plans for meaningful, interactive classes. We
are very thankful for all of our dedicated catechists and helpers that
it takes to run a program.
We ask that parents join us on the journey of religious education.
You are the first providers of faith to your children. Our goal is to
provide students a faith filled experience that celebrates Catholic
doctrine, as well as, an individual faith experience for each child.
Thank you for visiting our website and please contact me with any
questions you have about our wonderful program. I have enjoyed being
the religious education director for 17 years and I feel that our
program has much to offer all of our families in faith development.
